Mostly created for its novelty probably, Gummy Shooter is an amusing side-scrolling thumb blaster. To be honest, I’ve never tried anything like it before, but I was moved to try the Android category of ItchIO as I was out and it was really quite easy.
I don’t always cover games like this, because there is a conflict with how much praise I can gloat over a game versus how simplistic they actually are, but the least I can do is try.
So, let’s take a look at Gummy Shooter (for ANDROID!)
Gummy Shooter Gameplay
Everything here is a purple-orange anime pixel sci-fi. There’s really not much to it. The controls are a little confusing but just keep experimenting and you will get it. Want to check it out? It is, as everything here, free.
The game is a runner and shmup. It’s not terribly complex and it’s probably been covered more in this blog post than the entire internet. I just love these colorful pixel art platformers though.
Once you get the hang of Gummy Shooter, it’s a good time passer and great for wherever, the train or vacation or whatever. Indie games do no appear my the plethora for android, so this is actually really cool. And MAYBE, MAYBE, someday I will be inspired by these types of games to make something myself over on ItchIO for Android. Everybody has a smartphone these days, so go ahead and play it.
All of that said, I know nothing about the game beyond this. But the video made for a cool post and so here it is.
