Hello, welcome to Mr. Dave Pizza. This is my very first post. It’s not that bad really, seeing how I did actually know how to write. Updating this for my 1 year anniversary. It’s fun to remember this though.
The Wii-U experiment has been a very strange but entertaining one. I am constantly on a budget, but love cool tech and entertainment so invested in the console a couple of months ago. I could play nothing but Mario Kart on there, but I like trying games. It is seriously the way to go for retro Wii games (check out the Marseilles MCable, you’ll become a believer.)
One cool thing about the Wii-U is that not only does it support its only library of games but, also, classic Wii and also older games like SNES, NES, and Nintendo 64. There’s an online store for game purchases and DLC which still works too. There is still no support for GameCube at all, which is just weird, but there seems to be some big silence on that topic. It’s too bad, I would love to play Super Mario Sunshine or Quidditch World Cup.
Games
So anyway, in my exploration of colorful games, I downloaded the updates and loaded up my bargain copy of Splatoon and ran the tutorial. (Side note: there is a Splatoon 2 now for Switch! I am probably going to check it out when I get to that level of my technology tree.) You start off in this kind of city square with other characters who are, like you, half squid/half mutant and go where you want from there. There is a single-player campaign I played for about 2 minutes, or you can go to the lobby and, even in 2020 (5 years after its release), start a multiplayer game with 7 other players! It is actually really fun. I get tired of FPS’s, so this I’m cool with, because it is clean fun. I and my teammates actually won too! My first round! It is a little weird, you have to use the Gamepad to aim and shoot. I don’t think the switch version does that though, although it does have the tablet so I don’t know.

On the subject of lighthearted FPS fun, here’s another: Slime Rancher. I got this off of Steam and I do not regret it. Here’s the premise–you’re on a ranch in outer space and you fly around the world with a jet pack to collect adorable blobs with a vacuum and sell their “plorts” for equipment credits. It is so much fun, the music is fun, the graphics are fun, it is so enjoyable and stress-free. I friggin’ love this game.
That’s It
In other news, I slept until noon today. I never do that. I haven’t done that in probably 3 years when I was working overnight. I almost had a moment there where I felt the time was literally going faster. I have actually accomplished a thing or two today though, including making a pizza with vegetables from the garden, holy deliciousness.
