Just a fun little platformer today called Space Adventure. Found this on ItchIO. You play as a small alien crashlanded somewhere, a moon perhaps, wandering around collecting green dots. Works great on a controller, and the music is pleasant.
The original language of this game is German, so if you don’t speak German you might not totally understand what’s going on. Everything is pretty intuitive though, including the universal basics of all platformers (left, right, up, down, jump, etc.) Released within the last month.
Gameplay in Space Adventure
Players of platformers that involve puzzles will love this, but also those who simply enjoy the precision platformers with unique themes. Not to mention the gorgeous chiptune soundtrack and tilemap Metroidvania style. Retro fans, this is worth checking out.
All of that said, I don’t mean to shine a spotlight on this dev who is just trying new things. (Or do I? I honestly don’t remember.) However, it’s acquired enough attention in the free games section of Steam that it’s really kind of marvelous as far as this category goes.
Other Notes
This was one of the first games I played where I started to see how game jams and tilemap platformers tied into game development concepts. For the record, I’ve tried making my own games before in GoDot tilemap and this one is perfectly possible with that software to develop.
Overall, it’s just a fun quirky indie game, and I thought I’d share it. If you like the video above, check out the link below to the game where you can get it for free.
Thank you so much for reading Mr. Dave Pizza. I hope you enjoyed this article. And if you need be sure to have a look around and see what else I’ve been playing lately.
