Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers Appeals to Gamers, Romantics, and Visual Novel Lovers

Arcade Spirits: New Challengers takes place in an alternate history, the year 20XX, where arcades have not been subjected to deprecation or obsoleteness, unlike what happened after consoles in the 1980s. As such, the arcade is quite an interesting place to run into quirky characters. Get into all sorts of gaming fun in a truly nostalgic vibe. I keep an eye on Steam's demo listings on a daily basis. I've been really into visual novels for some time now. I like the way they hit my palette when it comes to emotionally charged game content. The game Arcade Spirits: New…

Escaping Winter is a 16-bit indie surival game on itch.io

Escaping Winter is a strategy game about a forest colony that has to survive the winter every few turns. It's safe to say that this is more of a JAM than anything, solely representing some conceptual ideas. Indeed, civ strategy games are not my forte, but I think this idea is unique enough. If unprepared a winter might be the downfall of a society if it lasts long enough. Luckily it just makes the fire put-put a couple of times. This is a small solo project, nothing to overanalyze. I liked the title screen though and this demo has what it needs.

The Character Creator is a Free Tool For World Building

I talked earlier today about using character creators for game creation, particularly visual novel. I went on a hunt, first on Itch.IO, but then on Google. It took me less than a minute to find a free 2D character creator. I made a video of it being used. I trimmed the video so you didn't have to do a click play to a full Monty scenario. Check it out though, I was able to customize clothing, facial features, facial expressions, and body types.
